On Sunday, June 24^th, 2023, members of the Hanover Police were dispatched to the 200 block of 5^th Street regarding an unconscious female in the driver’s seat of a parked motor vehicle. Police spoke with a 33-year-old Chesley woman finding her ability to operate a motor vehicle severely impaired. She was arrested and later charged under the Criminal Code with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle. In addition, police located controlled drugs in the female’s possession and she was further charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. Her vehicle was impounded and her driver’s license suspended for 90-days. She was later released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.
