RIDE Check results in Charges

On Saturday, July 2nd, 2022, members of the Hanover Police Service and West Grey Police Service were conducting a RIDE check on Grey Road #28. A driver was observed by police acting suspiciously by attempting to avoid approaching the RIDE check. Police stopped the driver who was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Police arrested the driver who later provided samples of their breath, which were nearly twice the legal limit of alcohol. Hanover Police have charged a 47-year-old Mildmay man under the Criminal Code with Impaired Driving and Over 80mgs of Alcohol. The driver’s license was suspended for 90-days and their vehicle was impounded. The man has an upcoming court date in Walkerton.
