On Saturday, August 5^th, 2023, members of the Hanover Police were conducting a RIDE check in the 800 block of 14^th Street. The officers were approached by a person who reported that they had just been assaulted. Through investigation, police formed grounds to believe that a 36-year-old Hanover man had assaulted the victim. The assault occurred during a verbal argument. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Assault. He has an upcoming court date in Walkerton.
