Mischief Arrest after Fire

On Saturday, November 6th, 2021, members of the Hanover Police Service were dispatched to the 300 block of 10th Street regarding a shopping cart that had been lit on fire. On arrival, police observed a shopping cart full of material fully engulfed. Police attempted to extinguish the fire using handheld extinguishers without success. The Hanover Fire Department was contacted and put the fire out. A man who was known to police was observed running away from the scene. He was later arrested and charged with Mischief and breaching an earlier court order. Both charges were under the Criminal Code. He was held for a bail hearing.
