On Wednesday, June 28^th, 2023, members of the Hanover Police Service while on general patrol observed a known 38-year-old Hanover man bicycling in the 400 block of 10^th Street. Police were aware that the man had active arrest warrants from neighbouring police jurisdictions. Police informed the man that he was under arrest at which time he refused police direction to stop bicycling. Once police stopped the man he actively resisted officers and needed to be taken to the ground. After the struggle he was taken into custody and charged under the Criminal Code with Resisting Lawful Arrest. He was given an upcoming court date in Walkerton.
