On Saturday, August 27^th, 2022, a local business in the 800 block of 10^th Street reported a theft of property. Through investigation a suspect in the theft was identified. On Tuesday, August 30^th, 2022, members of the Hanover Police Service while on patrol observed the suspect on 7^th Avenue. The 47-year-old man of no fixed address was taken into custody without incident. A search of the man resulted in the seizure of a prohibited knife. Hanover Police have charged the man with Theft, Possession of a Weapon, and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Device. The man was further charged with breaching a term of an earlier court order. All charges were under the Criminal Code. The man was released from custody with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.
