On Sunday, September 24th, 2023, members of the Hanover Police Service received a complaint of an erratic driver coming into Hanover on Grey Road 4. Police immediately responded and located the vehicle on 10th Street. Police spoke with the 43-year-old driver who was from Kincardine forming grounds to believe his ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The driver provided samples of his breath, which were more than four times the legal limit of alcohol. The driver was subsequently charged under the Criminal Code with Impaired Operation, Over 80mgs of Alcohol, and Dangerous Driving. His driver’s license was suspended and vehicle impounded. The driver has an upcoming court date in Walkerton.
