On Monday, May 14^th, 2023, Hanover Police while on patrol observed a known 30-year-old Hanover man leaving an address he was on conditions not to attend. On seeing police, the man fled but was apprehended a short distance away. The man then actively resisted and assaulted officers. One officer received minor injuries. Hanover Police have charged the man under the Criminal Code with numerous offences including Assaulting a Police Officer, Obstructing Justice (running away) and Failure to Comply with several orders of release. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
