On Monday, October 3^rd, 2023, Hanover Police responded to a disturbance in the 400 block of 12^th Street. Through investigation, police formed grounds to believe a 42-year-old Hanover man had assaulted another person with a broomstick. The assault occurred during a verbal argument. The victim did not require medical attention. Hanover Police have charged the man under the Criminal Code with Assault, Assault with a Weapon and Choking. He was released with an upcoming court date in Walkerton.
