On Monday, May 2nd, 2022, members of the Hanover Police Service attended to a suspicious person call in the 600 block of 10th Street. On arrival, police observed a well-known 38-year-old man on private property. Police were aware that the man was on court ordered conditions not to be there. The man was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code with Failure to Comply with his Probation. He later attempted to escape from police custody by forcing his way past officers. He attempted this 3 times. The man was further charged under the Criminal Code with Attempt to Escape Lawfully Custody. He was further charged with Mischief for damaging Hanover Police Service property. He was held for a bail hearing.
