On Wednesday, July 14th, 2021, members of the Hanover Police Service responded to a disturbance in the 500 block of 10th Street. Through investigation police formed grounds that a 21-year-old Hanover man had broken into the residence of an associate. Once inside the man assaulted the occupant of the residence and forced them into a vehicle parked outside. The man also uttered threats against the occupant. Hanover Police immediately responded and with the assistance of the public located the man. The victim was also located and taken to hospital with minor injuries. Hanover Police have charged the man with Kidnapping, Assault, Break and Enter, Mischief, Forcible Confinement, Uttering Threats and Failure to Comply with Probation. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
