Impaired Driver Arrested

On Saturday, April 22nd, 2023, members of the Hanover Police were conducting proactive patrol when they observed a vehicle parked in the middle of the roadway. On seeing police, the vehicle drove off along 14th Street. Police stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Hanover Police ended up arresting the 56-year-old Hanover man for impaired driving. While at the police station, the man refused to provide breath samples. Hanover Police have charged the man under the Criminal Code with Impaired Operation and Refusal to Provide a Sample. His driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle impounded. The man was further charged under the liquor control act with having open alcohol in the vehicle. He has an upcoming court date in Walkerton.
