Hanover Police Service have been receiving complaints of attempted gift card scams occurring within the Town of Hanover. In most cases, unknown persons are making contact with victims through the internet or by telephone. The scammers use various methods in trying to convince people to send them gift cards. Hanover Police would like to remind everyone that NO legitimate business would ever contact you to secure payment for services using gift cards. If you are ever unsure please contact your local police service prior to sending gift cards to anyone except trusted family members as gifts.
