On Tuesday, July 29^th, 2023, members of the Hanover Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision on 10^th Avenue. On arrival police observed a single vehicle into a hydro pole. The pole was broken in half but the driver was unharmed. After speaking with the driver police formed grounds to believe their ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. They were subsequently arrested and later provided samples of their breath which were nearly five times the legal limit of alcohol. The driver was later released from custody with an upcoming court date in Walkerton. Their driver’s license was suspended for 90-days and their vehicle impounded.
