On Thursday, March 25^th, 2021, Hanover Police received information about an attempted fraud. The victim was contacted by someone claiming to be from the VISA Fraud Department. The scammer attempted to glean personal information including VISA card numbers from the victim. The scammer claimed that they had noted “unusual” activity on the victims VISA. The victim recognized this fraud and did not provide the requested information to the scammer. If anyone has information about this attempted fraud, they are asked to contact the Hanover Police Service or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or by submitting a secure Web Tip.
